The HP LaserJet Pro P1106 and P1108 host-based printers were introduced in China and India in February 2012 with an OEM rated print speed of 18 A4 pages per minute (ppm) and an average monthly duty cycle of 5,000 pages. Both printers have the same specifications, but the colors of the housings differ. The P1106 is black with gray trim and the P1108 is silver-gray with black trim. MFP versions are the M126, M1136, M1213 and M1216.

The P1106 model ships with a 700 page yield introductory toner cartridge that is physically different from the 1,500 page standard yield replacement cartridge. This introductory cartridge will not hold a standard toner load and cannot be used as a remanufactured standard yield replacement. The P1108 model ships with a full capacity 1,500 page standard yield cartridge.

All models share the same cartridge SKUs, and cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
